Study visit to Australia
8 researchers of the Research Institute of Labour and Social Protection (RILSP) visited Australia during 6-13th of August. The researchers visited the Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS) at Victoria University (VU) in Melbourne which undertakes economic-modelling research for governments and businesses in many countries. The RILSP discussed cooperation possibilities with the CoPS on developing RILSPiM and training RILSP researchers within the framework of SECiM project. Also, the
researchers visited Monash University received information on use of GEMPACK software and had discussions and laboratory work of using GEMPACK. The researchers visited the Productivity Comission (PC) of the Federal Government of Australia and received information on microeconomic policy, regulation and a range of other social and environmental issues. The researchers had a meeting with Dr Jim Stanford, director of the Centre for Future Work (CFFW), and had discussion regarding changing environment in labour market in Australia. The researchers participated in the National “Computable General Equilbruim” workshop on economic modelling and labour market analysis, conducted by CoPS and NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet in Sydney.
